A Steam client update is now available. To apply the update, click the File menu inside of Steam and then select “Check for Steam Client Updates…”. The specific changes include:
Steam Client
- Fixed a case that could cause stats and achievements to be reset
- Show timestamps in both group and individual chats based on global setting
- Fixed a Steamworks api crash that was affecting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Tweaked the connection fallback logic to be more robust

Über Steam ist nun für die PC Version von Modern Warfare 2 der Patch mit der Nummer 1.0.177 erhältlich. Der Patch wird automatisch beim nächsten Start eures Steam-Clients installiert und verspricht euch so hoffentlich ein besseres Onlineerlebnis.
So wurden in dem neuesten Patch einige Exploits und XP-Hacks beseitigt. Hier der Changelog für euch:
- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency
- Fixes to prevent various texture and XP hacks
